Brad Paley’s Cognitive Engineering Design Methodology emerged in 1999, when Goldman Sachs asked him to optimize broker transactions at the NYSE. They’d refused earlier UX designs, so he drew their thoughts—making them the fastest on the floor, competitive with early electronic trades for years. The NYSE itself then hired him, and he sped refill orders by 15–20x. The CEDM has been applied across Wall St and 50+ other domains; it consistently delivers 10–100x more information, easier to read and act upon. An Adj. Assoc. Engineering Professor at Columbia and a Phi Beta Kappa UC Berkeley graduate, he holds four US patents (600+ citations). His award-winning work has been featured in the New York Times, ID Magazine, and Nature; exhibited at MoMA, the Whitney, and the Smithsonian Design Museum.
